The museum exhibits document the development of the equipment of the fire service, from manually driven machines and fire engines pulled by horses up to modern high-performance machines with impeller pumps driven by petrol engines.

The museum is located on the site of the former plant of the brothers Rajmund and August Smekal that produced fire machinery. The exhibition documents the development of their business, the investments of the authors of some technical solutions and patents, and quality work in the workshops. The fire engines exhibited here demonstrate the high level of workmanship of trades that are now extinct.
