The Moravian bicycle route runs from the Jeseníky Mountains to Southern Moravia. The section through Haná is ideal for less physically-fit cyclists. Its length in Central Moravia is about 80km; it connects the towns of Mohelnice, Litovel, Olomouc and Tovačov, and most of it runs through the lovely countryside of the Litovelské Pomoraví Protected Landscape Area. Using the current trail numbers, the Moravian route follows route Nos. 51 and 47.
In the first part of the path you will find a romantic landscape, formed by unspoiled forest meadows and you can stop off in several very interesting localities. In Moravičany a beautifully decorated church in the form of a cross is worth seeing, in nearby Nové Mlýny there is a unique hydroelectric power plant from the end of the 19th century, and in Nové Zámky you will find the Hunters' Lodge of the Liechtensteins and the exceptional small stone buildings of the Liechtenstein manor. Litovel and Olomouc are opportunities for longer stays and in-depth tours. The path continues on to Tovačov, a town surrounded by fishponds where many rare birds nest, and its chateau is not to be missed. From there you travel through Chropyňe to Kroměříž, the sumptuous former residence of the Olomouc bishops and archbishops.
