Tovačov Lakes

You are here:
Tovačov

The Tovačov Lakes are located southeast of the town of Tovačov, near the confluence of the Morava and Bečva rivers.

Currently, the Tovačov lakes consist of four separate bodies of water: Lake Annina, Lake Troubetskoye, Lake Skašovskoye and Lake Donbas. The natural conditions of the area create favourable conditions for many plants and animals. The presence of several specially protected species of animals, seventy species of birds and over 30 species of fish have been recorded. The lakes began to form in the 1950s as a flooded area after the extraction of gravel. The total area of the lakes is approximately 330 ha and is increasing every year as mining continues.

Other points of interest

The lakes serve as a source of drinking water, so swimming is limited - but don't worry, you can swim in Lake Annín on the shore adjacent to the town of Tovačov. Sport fishing is allowed on all lakes.

Summer tip

On the shore of Lake Annín you will find a well-groomed beach, which the locals call the Tovačov Riviera.
