Cave Na Pomezí

Lipová-lázně
Discounted admission with the ORC 15 - 50 %

It is the largest cave system in the Czech Republic formed by dissolving marble. The credit for the creation of these majestic natural spaces goes to underground and surface water from the Vidnávka River. It is located near the Priessnitz Spa in the Jeseníky Mountains.

A large part of them, discovered in 1936, belongs to the so-called living ones - this means that new stalactites are still being created and older stalactite formations are still being formed. On the more than half-kilometre route, visit places whose picturesque nature is evident from their names: the Ice Dome, the White Dome, the Mourning Willow, the Roman Baths, the Treasury, the Royal Chimney...

Among the typical karst phenomena, you can admire here pressure giant pots, excavated by flowing and swirling water, inflow formations creating cascades, massive jagged stalactites and mysterious pools.

The cave can be found right by the road No. 60 - it is 7.5 km from Jeseník. Right at the entrance to the caves you will find a parking lot where you can park your bus or car comfortably. The nearest train stop is in the village of Lipová lázně (3km).

Tips for trips around the area: If you continue further along the road No.60 towards the border crossing Bílý Potok, be sure to stop in Račí údolí, where you will find the unique Art Nouveau Dance House. Then you can take a walk to the nearby Devil's Pulpit or to the ruins of Rychleby Castle. In Javorník, do not miss the tour of the Jánský vrch Chateau. If you go towards Jeseník and Lipová, make sure to stop at the Faunapark in Horní Lipová. It is definitely worth a visit. From Lipová you can take two nature trails - a pleasant walk to the spa awaits you on the Schroth - Priessnitz trail. Follow in the footsteps of the famous healer on the Johann Schroth trail.
