During the 19th century, the textile industry in Šumperk experienced an unprecedented boom. As a result, the urban and architectural face of the town changed rapidly. The wealthy businessmen of Šumperk invited important Viennese architects to build their villas and palaces. Šumperk thus became strikingly close to the appearance of the then capital of the Habsburg monarchy. Let yourself be tempted to take a stroll through the historic suburbs and the city centre. There are plaques with additional texts on each important building.

Among other things, you will pass by the so-called "The Castle of the City". You will pass by the Pavlina dvor, which is currently home to the Homeland Museum, the Geschader House, where you can visit the Witch Trials Exposition.

The buildings associated with the 19th century era of the city's development will also be presented to visitors through an interactive mobile game called No Stamp Like a Stamp or A Great Adventure in Little Vienna. For more information, stop by the Information Centre.
