Blueberry Mountain Lookout Tower (Borůvková hora)

You are here:
Javorník

Directly on the Czech-Polish border, the lookout tower on Borůvkové hora (898 m) offers magnificent views - of Otmuchov Lake and Lake Nysa on the Polish side, and of Králický Sněžník, Šerák and Praděd on the Czech side.

The original tower was built in the 1870s. Today there is a new 25m high observation tower, opened in October 2006. The construction of the tower is circular in plan, made of a load-bearing steel structure and wooden cladding. The height of the lookout tower is about 24 m, the highest point of the tower is 26.1 m. There is also a tourist shelter with refreshments and souvenirs for sale, and several covered seating areas around the tower.

How to get to the tower?

You can reach the Blueberry Mountain by several routes. The most comfortable route, which can be used by children (but not for strollers, it is mostly a forest path), leads from the border crossing at Travná - it is a green tourist sign, it runs along the Czech-Polish border (about 3.5 km). More difficult is the ascent directly from the village of Travná - it is a blue hiking trail 4 km long with an elevation of over 400 m.
