The chateau boasts not only richly decorated interiors, but also a unique layout - there is a circular park with a path around the chateau and lime alleys running out of it in all directions. One could say, with exaggeration, that it is actually a great natural compass and one of the largest and oldest roundabouts in Europe. What is more, you can still see two other preserved manor houses in Náměšt' today. In short, lovers of monuments will find something to do here.
At the foot of the Drahanská vrchovina lies the town of Náměšt' na Hané, dominated by a classicist chateau with French architectural influences built in the 18th century. The chateau is situated on a hill and offers a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding area and even Olomouc itself.
In the richly decorated rococo interiors you will find exhibitions with examples of the lifestyle of the high nobility. There are also two archbishop's carriages. The castle hosts a number of interesting cultural events, such as the flower exhibition Flowers for the Lady of the Castle, an annual Afternoon with a Bedtime Story for children, and evening tours from fairy tale to fairy tale. In the park you can play an interactive game with your children. One of the most famous owners of the castle was the Kinský family. They liked Náměšt' so much that they had a tomb built in the local cemetery, in which seven members of the count's family rest.
The castle is not the only thing you can see in Náměšt' na Hané. In the vicinity of the chateau there is also the chateau chapel, the remains of the medieval castle (you can visit the chapel and the remains of the castle with a guided tour - route D) and the so-called Lower Castle (today's malt house).
Not only history lovers but also nature lovers will find something to enjoy. Along the Šumice River is the Terezské údolí (Terezské údolí Valley), which can be reached by a nature trail suitable for strolling with a pram.
