Red Mountain saddle

You are here:
Bělá pod Pradědem

It is one of the most important tourist crossroads of Hrubý Jeseník and one of the most famous downhill skiing resorts in northern Moravia. It is also ready for cross-country skiers, and in summer, of course, for hikers and cyclists.

It forms an important point on the road crossing the main ridge of the Jeseníky massif.

Ski area

The location above 1000 m above sea level provides the prerequisite for a good winter season from mid-December to the end of March. Visitors can choose between terrains ranging from easy to steep slalom slopes for the most advanced skiers. There is also a Snowpark and a well-equipped ski rental and service.

Visitors will also find all other services in the Červenohorské sedlo area, including a quality restaurant, a hotel and a well-equipped wellness centre with a swimming pool.

The saddle is an excellent starting point for hiking. It is also one of the points on the route along the Hřebenovce of the Olomouc Region.

Cross-country skiing trails run from Červenohorské sedlo to both sides of Hrubý Jeseník. A significant part of them is machine groomed. Among the most popular is the route along the southern slope of Velký Klínovec, then to Švýcárna and Praděd.

Traffic warning

In winter, it is best not to venture here without snow chains, as they are often the only way to reach the resort. In case of overcrowding in the parking lot at Červenohorské sedlo, there is an emergency parking lot in Kouty nad Desnou from where a shuttle bus service to the Červenohorské sedlo ski area will be provided.
