The most attractive (always well groomed on busy sections) cross-country skiing trail in the Jeseníky Mountains is the Jesenická magistrála. It is about 100 kilometres long and has a number of suitable starting points and mountain huts along the route.

The cross-country skiing trail starts in Upper Moravia below Králický Sněžník and leads through Kladské sedlo to Paprsek and Ramzová. From there, it continues with a steep ascent to Šerák and on through Vřesová studánka to Červenohorské sedlo, one of the most popular starting points. It is the most popular section through Švýcárna to Praděd and Ovčárna. Here the main trail heads to Peter's Stones and continues along the ridge to Jelení studánka, Alfrédka and Skřítek. Crossing the Jeseníky Ridge is an impressive experience with magnificent views of the surrounding landscape, but the mountains also show their harsh winter beauty.
