Do you like lavender? Then definitely visit the Lavender Farm in Bezděkov, which is famous for its cultivation. The farm organizes experiential programs, offers tastings, photography with a professional photographer, or the possibility of using the place for weddings. Every year, on the 5th and 6th of July, the Levadula Festival takes place right in the middle of the blooming lavender fields. The festival is full of music, attractions, products from local producers, good food and drink. In short, a festival to delight all the senses.

The family farm follows the tradition of the grandparents and grows garlic, strawberries, marigolds, mint, lemon balm and especially lavender. Lavender has become an iconic commodity on the farm, with 14,000 of the original 500 plants planted.

What does the farm offer?

Around the lavender fields, three small tourist gazebos have recently been built for visitors to relax in, to further enhance the calming power of the beautiful lavender-scented surroundings. The estate offers guided tours, the opportunity to pick your own bouquet, and, thanks to the outdoor kitchen, a tasting menu of dishes with the addition of this crop. For those interested, it is also possible to attend twice-weekly 1.5-hour yoga classes from May to July in an unconventional setting among the lavender bushes. The farm may also offer lavender seedlings for sale to the public each fall or spring. Lavender is grown on the farm without chemical sprays or artificial fertilizers.

Shop in Bezděkov

Visitors have the opportunity to buy lavender goods in the small shop directly in Bezděkov, but also in the e-shop. These are mainly cosmetic products with lavender, carved decorative lavender soaps, syrup, liqueur, a bag of dried lavender leaves for scenting, or lavender for tea, cooking and baking.

Where else to go for lavender?

In addition to the farm itself, a network of cafés/bistros has been opened in the squares in the centre of Úsov, Olomouc and Zábřeh, where in addition to the traditional café range, they also offer specialities with lavender, be it coffee, tea, punch, special sparkling wine, lemonade, cake, chocolate, marmalade, biscuits or ice cream. All can be enjoyed on the spot or purchased for home consumption. In addition to their own products, they also have cheeses from local farmers, which thus tastefully complement the products of the associated wine shop with a wide range of Rieslings mainly from Moravia and various wine regions of Germany.
