Protected Landscape Area Jeseníky

You are here:
Malá Morávka

An area of native forests, peat bogs, meadows and rugged mountains. Untouched nature, clean air and ideal conditions for summer and winter holidays make the Jeseníky Protected Landscape Area a very attractive area.

Even in the 21st century, the area of 740 km2 is very little disturbed by human activity. The most valuable locality is the Velká kotlina, situated on the slopes of Vysoké Hole (1464 m above sea level).

Interesting fact: It is one of the most important natural sites in Central Europe. Some of the plant species here cannot be found in any other place in the Czech Republic!

You can only move around here on marked hiking trails. The seven-kilometre-long nature trail Velká kotlina with viewing platforms and information boards, which starts in Malá Morávka - Karlova and ends at Ovčárna, runs through the reserve.

You can also take a trip with Koprníček through the Keprnice Mountains or along the ridges - the world of mountain meadows. In every season you will find unique treasures in the Jeseníky Mountains.

In spring, it's trout in the watered streams, in summer there is an abundance of mushrooms, blueberries and other fruits in the forests, in autumn everyone is captivated by the view of the mountains in bright colours and in winter you can enjoy the rich snow cover. The Jeseníky Mountains are simply the ideal place to spend your days off.
