It is a unique and the largest collection of historical carriages and lanterns in Central Europe. The exhibition created by the restorer Václav Obre includes over 100 carriages and sleighs. Among the rarest exhibits is the Golden Carriage made in France in 1750 or the Archbishop's carriage that was featured in the films Amadeus, Sissi or The Vampire Wedding. The collection also includes mourning carriages, sleighs and many carriage accessories.
You can see over 50 carriages and sleighs, the largest funeral carriage of all time, and carriages that have been renovated or are in their original state. The tour includes a visit to the restoration shop and a gallery of documents, printed matter and plans. You can also enjoy an audio projection, a light show or a film projection.
Every year in July, JOSEFKOL - an international gathering of masters of the wheelwright and coachmaker craft - takes place in the castle park in Bohemia pod Kosířem. You will see, among other things, the work of craftsmen, thematic performances or a show of equipment.
