The Marian Column

Olomouc

This column from the stone workshop of Václav Render was created in memory of the victims of the plague of 1713-1715. The sculptural decoration was done by Jan Sturmer and Tobias Schütz.

The basic scheme of the column is a variation on the Prague and Vienna plague columns.
